Catawba Valley Medical Center's Cardiology Department has become a cornerstone of advanced cardiovascular care in our region. Our accredited Heart Center works hand-in-hand with Catawba Valley Cardiology's providers, bringing together years of specialized clinical experience and a team-oriented approach to diagnosing, treating, and managing heart conditions with skill and compassion.

 

In 2017, the Heart Center earned Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the American College of Cardiology (ACC), and the hospital also holds Primary PCI accreditation. CVMC operates as a 24/7 STEMI facility, ready to treat complex cardiac emergencies including chest pain, heart attacks, and cardiogenic shock.

 

Our cardiologists perform vital procedures in a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab, including diagnostic heart catheterization, balloon angioplasty, and coronary artery stenting. Our electrophysiology lab is equally advanced,

CVMC was the first EP lab in North Carolina to use the Pulse Field ablation dual catheter, allowing mapping and ablation with a single catheter to reduce time under anesthesia.

 

For patients admitted to the hospital, our nursing staff provides attentive, around-the-clock monitoring and care. On the outpatient side, Catawba Valley Cardiology offers cardiovascular testing, a Heart Failure Access Clinic for early intervention, a Cardiac Device Clinic for pacemaker and defibrillator follow-up, and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation for patients recovering from cardiac surgery or events.
